PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES BEDFORDSHIRE

This course is designed for students who would like to improve on their Photographic skills and gain knowledge of how to use a camera effectively. It is aimed to cater for all levels and capabilities whilst also allowing them to explore at their own pace.
Students should have a functional SLR camera with it having the ability to change aperture, shutter speed, ISO and removable lens. Manual options would be preferable.
Please bring with you your camera manual as this will be required, if you do not have one you can download one from the internet.
The course compares different photographers. Exploring composition, style, light, tone and subject matter. Most of the lessons are on location, with weather taken into consideration.
You will be given a range of projects briefs and with guidance of how to approach the subjects at the same time looking at how different photographers may have approached them.
The photographs will be examined on the next lessons for feedback, with the understanding you will have time to print them.
The lessons are set in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere over a coffee, where you can make new friends and like- minded acquaintances. The lessons end with a friendly critique aimed to help and improve on your skill.
The courses start by meeting for a coffee and informal chat and presentation covering all areas of your cameras so you will have a good understanding of how to use your equipment, and maximize the best use from it.
The aim emphasises capturing the best light using combinations of apertures, shutter speeds, ISO ratings and effective use of the tripod, so that at the end of the workshop you will have had an enjoyable and rewarding time with many superb images to take home.
Covering:-
Apertures - Depth of field and combining this with focal lengths on locations with your personal photographer to examine best use of available light and its directional effect on imagery.
How to get the best from your images:- Backgrounds, rule of the thirds, composition, unflattering and framing your view.
How and where to focus:- Focal points, depth of field, manual and automatic focus and changing focus to suit the image.
Use of filters:- including ND, Graduated ND and Polarisers.
Long exposures:- Daylight and Low light techniques, Tripod use.
Composition and location/image selection.
